A little bit about the music classroom:

In music class students will sing, move, listen, imitate, explore, experience, analyze, classify, create, share, perform, notate, read, improvise, cooperate, and most importantly HAVE FUN!!!! We strive to create innovative, engaging lesson plans which include singing, playing instruments, and moving in each of our lessons. Music is important here at Dolvin Elementary. Studies show that students who receive music perform better on tests involving reading, math, problem solving, and logical thinking.

Chorus Letter 2016-2017
Dear Parents,

Your child has indicated that he/she would be interested in joining chorus this year.  Chorus is open to all fourth and fifth grade students who enjoy singing and performing.  This year we will perform an exciting music medley for Dolvin’s Fine Arts Night in April.  We will keep you posted on any upcoming events as time approaches.

Chorus will meet every Thursday afternoon from 2:30 until 3:30 pm.  The children are to be picked up promptly at 3:30 at the Jones Bridge entrance.  It is important that you and your child be able to commit to attending rehearsals every week, as we require a lot of practice in order to do our best.  The only excused absences from chorus are illnesses and out-of-town trips.  Two unexcused absences or excessive late pickups may result in dismissal of your child from chorus.  Please encourage your child to always do their best. Even though this is an after school activity, we expect the same good manners and attention the children exhibit during the school day. Since this is a volunteer chorus, any student not participating or behaving may result in his or her removal from chorus.  Dates and times will be announced through parent letters, e-mails, and through the music website at www.dolvinmusicendicott.blogspot.com, Twitter (@EndicottSpot), and Instagram (@dolvinmusic) #dolvinmusic.

We do communicate through e-mail often, so please be sure to neatly include your e-mail address on the form.

If you should have any questions, please e-mail the music department at endicott@fultonschools.org or polaski@fultonschools.org. You may also complete this form online through the Dolvin Music Website, www.dolvinmusicendicott.blogspot.com.

Sincerely,

Megan Endicott and Allison Polaski
