A little bit about the music classroom:

In music class students will sing, move, listen, imitate, explore, experience, analyze, classify, create, share, perform, notate, read, improvise, cooperate, and most importantly HAVE FUN!!!! We strive to create innovative, engaging lesson plans which include singing, playing instruments, and moving in each of our lessons. Music is important here at Dolvin Elementary. Studies show that students who receive music perform better on tests involving reading, math, problem solving, and logical thinking.

Dolvin Chorus

Chorus Online Signup

The year's chorus will be working on ways to involve students in various singing opportunities that follow regulations set forth by the district guidelines for Covid-19 safety. This year will certainly be a unique one!

Rather than meet face to face, which brings on its own challenges, we will be meeting with students remotely through a Dolvin Chorus Microsoft Team. Students will meet Tuesday afternoons from 4:30pm – 5:00pm ONLINE inside of Microsoft Teams. It is our goal to find unique ways to continue to offer the opportunity of auditioning or signing up for various roles of acting, singing, and playing instruments. Enrollment for the spring chorus is open now until Thursday, December 17th.  Because our events may feel unpredictable, please consider adding the chorus calendar to your calendars. (Scroll down to see the calendar and click the +Google Calendar) or consider visiting the Chorus webpage. We will also post the calendar in a tab inside of the chorus Microsoft Team.

Because we will not be holding an annual holiday performance, we have created a wonderfully unique opportunity to share the joy of music schoolwide! This is a great way for our talented 4th and 5th grade musicians to take the helm and lead the way! All Dolvin students and/or family members may simply record themselves singing, playing, or dancing to a holiday favorite of their choice on Flipgrid using this link: https://flipgrid.com/dolvinholidayfun2020 Log in using your Fulton email and password. (username@fcstu.org & birthday) OR scroll down and drop in your video on this page. Reach out if you have any questions! This should be fun and a great way to shine!

We look forward to many unique virtual performance opportunities!

Please e-mail me at endicott@fultonschools.org or polaski@fultonschools.org if you have any questions regarding chorus.

Chorus Letter 2020-2021

Dear Parents,

Your child has indicated that he/she would be interested in joining chorus this year.  Chorus is open to all fourth and fifth grade students who enjoy singing and performing.  This year we will perform an exciting music showcase for Dolvin’s holiday concert in December virtually through Flipgrid and a virtual vocal medley video in May.  We will keep you posted on any upcoming events as time approaches as sometimes special opportunities do present themselves for our young performers.

Chorus will meet every Tuesday afternoon from 4:30 until 5:00 pm virtually inside of Microsoft Teams.  It is important that you and your child be able to commit to attending rehearsals every week, as we require a lot of practice in order to do our best.  Rehearsals WILL be recorded for students to review in the event of an absence.

Please encourage your child to always do their best. Even though this is an after-school activity, we expect the same good manners and attention the children exhibit during the school day. Since this is a volunteer chorus, any student not participating, or displaying disruptive behavior may result in his or her removal from chorus.  Dates and times will be announced through parent letters, e-mails, Remind, and through the music website at www.dolvinmusicendicott.blogspot.com, Twitter (@EndicottSpot), and Instagram (@dolvinmusic) #dolvinmusic.

We do communicate through e-mail often, so please be sure to correctly type your e-mail address in the form.

If you should have any questions, please e-mail the music department at endicott@fultonschools.org or polaski@fultonschools.org. You may also complete this form online through the Dolvin Music Website, www.dolvinmusicendicott.blogspot.com.

 Sincerely,

 Megan Endicott and Allison Polaski
