A little bit about the music classroom:

In music class students will sing, move, listen, imitate, explore, experience, analyze, classify, create, share, perform, notate, read, improvise, cooperate, and most importantly HAVE FUN!!!! We strive to create innovative, engaging lesson plans which include singing, playing instruments, and moving in each of our lessons. Music is important here at Dolvin Elementary. Studies show that students who receive music perform better on tests involving reading, math, problem solving, and logical thinking.

PM Duty Schedule: Outside Car Pool - Buice Road Entrance

  • You will be outside at the Buice Road entrance.
  • Make sure students walk to cars. (load cars around the corner in waves as they come outside)
Planning: 7:40 - 8:55

Lunch: 11:20 – 11:50.

Cleaning for Covid: You will need to ensure you pick up a clean rag from the front of the building at a table placed by the Buice Road Doors. If possible, I will have another teacher bring this clean rag to you. There is a spray bottle at the front of my classroom. Please ensure you spray all benches and stools between EACH class. The spray needs to sit for one minute.

Shared Materials / Instruments: Materials will not be shared due to Covid spreading. Students should arrive in class with their "to go" bag of materials which includes all they will need for substitute activities. If and when instruments are required for classes, instruments in the red taped section are cleaned and ready for use. All instruments are then placed on the yellow back counter after use for teacher cleaning. Do not use instruments in "quarantine" on the back counter.  If students use pencils, crayons, or other materials from the music room, they will need to be placed on the back counter following for cleaning.

Computer for running lessonsThere is a chromebook on the front counter plugged in and ready to run lessons for you. There are pieces of tape with directions labeling what to do and where to go on the computer.

Copies: Copies for the month can be found on the back yellow counter. IF you need to make copies, there is a copier in the academy workroom. Find a neighboring teacher to ask for directions.
